Software will automate and broaden risk management program
BOSTON, August 13, 2013 – MEGA, industry leader in governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) and enterprise architecture (EA), today said that Walgreens is deploying MEGA’s GRC solutions in its continued efforts to drive efficiencies within some of its risk management programs.
Walgreens is the nation’s largest drugstore chain, with 2012 sales of $72 billion. The company serves more than six million customers each day through more than 8,100 drugstores across the country.
Walgreens is using the MEGA software solution as a means to automate its already established, successful risk management program. This addition provides Walgreens with an integrated technology platform enabling sharing and management of vital information it uses to manage risks across the company. The solution allows for consolidation of several repositories of data, further enabling additional analyses and reporting in an efficient manner.
MEGA’s GRC and EA solutions are tightly aligned through its signature technology platform, HOPEX. This unique approach is the only one today that combines GRC with EA to allow companies to very efficiently collect and reuse much of the same information that is required for business transformation and protection programs. The MEGA GRC and EA solutions offer a central repository that can create a ‘single source of truth’ for companies. It ensures that information contributed and shared by multiple groups and individuals with responsibility for risk, audit, and compliance activities is fully consistent and current.
Business transformation programs often spread across companies, from application portfolio management in IT to internal audit to business planning and architecture, or to many other areas throughout the organization when companies have the tools that can provide a comprehensive view of operations and resources.
This unified approach to risk management is one that many companies are establishing because of increasing business risks. Industry leaders like Walgreens have taken the initiative to put effective programs in place to protect the company and provide efficiency gains.
For more than 20 years, companies worldwide have relied on MEGA’s software solutions to help them improve business performance. Clients include Aetna, Choice Hotels, Express Scripts, Nissan and Procter & Gamble.
In addition, industry analysts continually cite MEGA solutions as leaders. The company:
