MEGA to Discuss Best Practices in Enterprise Architecture

Focus at Orlando conference will be on how businesses are using enterprise architecture to improve business results

BOSTON, September 25, 2012 MEGA, a leader in enterprise architecture (EA), will discuss how its customers, leaders in several worldwide industries, have solved challenging corporate issues by using EA solutions. This case study information will be provided at the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo in Orlando, October 21-25.

Discussions at the conference about enterprise experiences in EA will focus on business architecture, business process analysis, and application portfolio management (APM).

APM has become a vital part of successful EA programs to manage large, complex groups of applications that evolve over years. As company knowledge about these applications lapses, many become redundant or underutilized, and are often outdated or unnecessary for current business needs. They become quite expensive and time consuming to maintain and difficult to modernize.

In 2012, MEGA added new capability for APM to the MEGA Suite. The MEGA Application Portfolio Management solution helps companies create an organized, consistent view of the application portfolio to aid in relevant, cost-effective decisions on application retirement or upgrades. It stores all application information (functions, relationships, dependencies) in one “single source of truth” repository. Enterprise architects and IT teams can evaluate this centralized information and generate possible scenarios for portfolio change, including cost evaluation and effects on business units.

“We are seeing many companies increase corporate value by driving successful business and IT transformations through EA and APM initiatives,” noted Lucio de Risi, CEO, MEGA. “Through these innovative and effective programs, they are producing significant change within their organizations that has helped improve business performance through new efficiencies, cost reduction, and market expansion.”

The MEGA Suite helps organizations analyze and plan so they can react to changes quickly and anticipate trends. This proven software provides a complete view of the processes of an organization, and the technology that supports it, helping companies reduce unknowns, delays, and costs. As a result of EA intiatives, executives and managers have clear, comprehensive information on enterprise-wide operations and resources that allows them to make better business decisions.

MEGA’s customers rely on MEGA for its proven software and expertise in developing and expanding successful business improvement programs. The company was named a leader by Forrester Research, Inc. in The Forrester Wave; Enterprise Architecture Management Suites, Q2 2011. Gartner, Inc. positioned MEGA in the Leaders quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Architecture Tools, published November 3, 2011 and the Magic Quadrant for Business Process Analysis Tools, published December 12, 2011.
